Diary of a TFC Century League Challenge 29
The End
As I'm sure you've all guessed by now, the challenge failed. In the final week my players stumbled along to a respectable 1142 while the eventual winner amassed a collossal 1960. That's a good score in any week, but when players are giving up, being rested/rotated, and a few other excuses, right left and centre, it's amazingly good. I've spent some time analyzing where it went wrong, but no one decision can really be blamed. What I will say is that the whole century leagues idea was a brilliant one and I hope they retain it again next year. All that remains is to publish the final table and thank all my readers for showing an interest.
So what next? The team wasn't a complete failure as it did get runner-up in it's super-league second-half cup competition. Those winnings have been re-invested in a Goalstradamus entry for the remainder of the football season. I'm intending starting a new diary giving an insight into my selections for that as the season progresses. Look out for the first installment over the next few days.
