Cricket transfer deadlines

From 1st September* all matches will be starting half an hour to an hour earlier. So championship matches start at 1030, Pro40 matches at 1245 (unless floodlit where it remains 1640) and ODI matches at 1015. Deadlines have been amended above.

* Matches in progress this weekend still start at 1100.

Minor update for points pages

Following feedback, I've changed the functionality on the points pages slightly. You can still add teams together to compare performance of players from just a few teams, however, clicking on the team button again will remove that team from the selection. So, if you've been looking at Tottenham players and now want to examine Blackburn on their own, just click on 'Tot' followed by 'Blk' (or vice versa). To aid recognition the selected team buttons are coloured blue.

The same change applies to cricket and football points.

Another early transfer deadline

Hampshire start their 4-day match late today (to get over the late Pro40 match last night) and make up the lost time by starting early tomorrow (Friday). Therefore the deadline will be 10:30 again tomorrow morning. Full story here.

Cricket updates this week

Other commitments mean that the score update tomorrow (Tuesday) may be delayed until later in the evening. Confirmaton of week 16 points is also likely to be run at the same time as the daily score update. Normal service should be resumed by Wednesday.

Now updated. I'd forgotten there was a late Pro40 match today, so the update was never going to be that early.

Week 15 score update

Scores to the end of week 15 have been confirmed all ok today. There are more problems with the scorecards at Sporting Life tonight, so today's points may not get updated until they fix the card.

Also, the Telegraph have confirmed that no new players will be added to this game during the remaining 5 weeks. I guess they're concentrating on the football now that TFF has kicked off.

Early deadline and a scorecard problem

Please note that the transfer deadline this Friday (24th) will be at the earlier time of 10:30. See http://www.lccc.co.uk/index.php?p=news&id=1556 for the full story.

Sporting Life scorecards spent most of today seriously broken, but thankfully normal service was restored just in time for the update. Let's hope it doesn't break again this season.

New features for Points pages

There are two new features available today. The first is in the TFF2007-8 points page (the one with this seasons players/prices and last seasons points), the other one is available in all points sections, both football and cricket.

Points per million per game
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Take the points scored, divide by the player's value, then divide by the number of games played. At the moment the column is only available for the whole season, but I expect to add a last 6 weeks version as the season progresses.

View multiple clubs
Available on all recent points pages, this allows you to compare players from any number of teams. Just click on each team button at the top to add their players into the selection. To start again simply select a position (ie goalkeeper, wicketkeeper).

As always, comments and suggestions are always welcome. If you have a blogger login then you can leave a comment here, or just click on the 'contact us' button on the left.

Week 13 Score update

Those incompetent fools (sorry, lovely boys) at the Press Association managed to screw up the scorecard for the Twenty20 final by attributing the last 3 balls to Jon Lewis instead of Carl Greenidge (even though Lewis had already bowled his 4 overs). This meant that I had Lewis with 3 fewer points and Greenidge with 3 more points than they actually scored. I guess I might have stood more chance of noticing had the result been different, but that's another story.

Also, while they have scored the three matches on Saturday as separate events, the Telegraph have added the scores for Kent and Gloucestershire players together on their points pages. It doesn't matter scoring wise because you couldn't transfer between the matches, but it did confuse me a little while trying to see where the error above had occured.

Finally, all other predicted scores in weeks 12 and 13 were ok.
