Scores Update (week 7) and fixture change
Despite some quirky things happening with the online scorecards, the provisional scores for week 7 have been confirmed all ok on the Telegraph site today. Week 8 starts this evening with another set of Twenty20 matches.
The Northants site is reporting that their Pro40 match with Hampshire on Sunday 19th August will be postponed because Hampshire are in the Friends Provident Trophy final the day before. I'm assuming that the Somerset vs Durham Pro40 match on the same day will also suffer the same fate, but as yet there is no confirmation. The fixture grid will be updated as soon as new dates are confirmed. The FPT final needs a second day as a fallback in case of poor weather.

A book to read for the summer
Are you finding yourself with time to kill during the summer break. If you're not playing fantasy cricket (or even if you are), why not try reading the odd book. One that we recommend here is Freak of Nature
, the latest novel by award winning author Phil Whitaker.
Twenty20 Fixture Change
Cricket fixtures don't, as a rule, change once they've been released. However, since I generated the fixture grid earlier this year, the BBC is now showing Northants vs Worcestershire as being on Friday 22nd rather than Saturday 23rd June. This makes more sense as it means that all 18 counties start on the same day, which suggests that it was originlly an error on the BBC site.

Premiership fixtures 2007-8
The fixtures for the new season have been released today. Yes, I will be setting up a new fixture grid soon, but no, it won't be for a while. Until Sky/Setanta decide which matches are moving to Sunday/Monday the grid would be a rather boring block of solid red. Check back in a few weeks once the picture becomes clearer.

New layout for cricket points
There is a new layout for the cricket points available here. Like the football points for the last couple of seasons, all the players are loaded into your browser at once. You can then choose what selection to view by both type (bat, bowl etc) and county. You can still sort by any of the usual columns, and once sorted the same order applies to each new type/county viewed. The brand new feature is that by default only 25 lines are displayed at once. You can select later pages by clicking links at the bottom while the headings remain in view. If you really want to see all the pages at once (perhaps to copy the data to a spreadsheet) then you can also ask for that.
Comments, suggestions or problems are welcome. The old pages will remain attached to the buttons for a few days in case a serious issue is reported.

Week 5 scores update
Two Northants bowlers have had adjustments made to their scores from day 3 of the match against Essex. RKJ Dawson lost 5 points while SP Crook gained them. Curiously it doesn't seem to have related to a catch, so I'm stumped. All other scores were correct and the column is now coloured black.

Week 5 Interin update
Week 5 scores have been confirmed up to last night. There were two errors, OJ Newby was missing his 8 points and PJ Wiseman was missing the 5 points for catching the aforementioned Newby. The reason for the mix up was that Newby wasn't shown in the starting XI as Lancashire expected Anderson back from the test in time. Further checks will be put into the macro before the next test match.

Week 4 scores update
Just 3 errors on the week 4 provisional scores. Salisbury and Nicholson of Surrey were 1 point out, while Hogg has transfered from Worcs to Lancs on a season long loan so his 12 points were missing. Otherwise all ok.

Business as usual
After the problems last night I'm delighted to report that scores have been confirmed 100% as at last night.
An eventful night and more new players
After an evening at a very boring estate residents meeting I came back about 9pm and ran the update, forgetting that the day/night Friends Provident match hadn't finished. Apologies to anyone who checked scores before about 11pm when the mistake was corrected.
And then I discover that the Telegraph have added a further 5 new players from Thursday. Only one scored points on Wednesday which will not be included in the CT column. The most interesting player is the former Middlesex all-rounder, New Zealander Scott Styris, who has signed for Durham. Details are:
