The situation is as follows: If Liverpool and Arsenal draw their FA Cup 3rd round tie, the rearranged Carling Cup quarter final would have to be moved to the date of the first leg of the semi-final. The second leg of the semi final would then displace Premiership matches on 30/31 January. The matches in jeopardy are those involving either Liverpool or Arsenal, and Tottenham. Of course if one set of reds triumphs on January 6th then the Carling Cup match can occupy the FA Cup replay slot and there won't be any further ramifications.

Meanwhile, the game involving Blackburn and Watford which was postponed because of conflicting UEFA Cup and Sky TV commitments has now been rearranged for January 23rd.
